CHOICES is a rebate program that rewards you for training your employees offered through Workers’ Safety and Compensation Board Yukon.

Rebates range from 4% to 10% of your annual assessment, up to $25,000 per year. COR- and SECOR-certified businesses automatically qualify for a 10% rebate. To find out what your rebate might be, contact the Employer Advisor

Apply for a CHOICES rebate

To get your CHOICES rebate, complete Section B of your annual Employer’s Payroll Return (EPR) form. This form is mailed out to all employers in late December. You do not need to provide training documentation with your EPR report, but we may ask for proof of training before processing your rebate or as part of a spot audit.

To be eligible for a CHOICES rebate, training must meet the following criteria.

  • Training must be provided by an approved third party (such as, Northern Safety Network Yukon, St. John Ambulance, Yukon University); and
  • Training must result in a certificate, transcript or other proof of completion.

Training does not necessarily need to have a safety focus. Training that increases your skills to help you perform your job more safely or to mitigate injury may qualify for a rebate.
