Yukon Travel Rebate Program

The Government of Yukon has partnered with the Yukon Chamber of Commerce to offer Yukoner’s a 25% rebate on eligible tourism experiences. We want to encourage Yukoners to continue to vacation here in the territory.

The Great Yukon Summer Freeze will be happening between November 1, 2021 and March 31, 2022.  Yukon tourism businesses are offering winter tourism experience packages, starting at $250 per person, which are listed on the Great Yukon Summer page.

Yukoners must pay the full package price upfront, but can submit a rebate application with their receipts and a declaration of proof of residency after their trip occurs. Rebate applications for Great Yukon Summer Freeze experiences must be submitted by April 15, 2022.

This rebate is only available for tourism packages listed on the Great Yukon Summer page, which are part of the Great Yukon Summer and Great Yukon Summer Freeze initiative.

Rebate application and process

  1. Book your Great Yukon Summer Freeze tourism experience through the Great Yukon Summer page.

  2. Pay for the package in full and keep an itemized receipt of the purchase.

  3. Submit photos or scanned copies of detailed receipt and a completed Rebate Application on the Yukon Chamber of Commerce website. Keep all original receipts.

  4. Email your application and receipts to claims@yukonchamber.com.

  5. Application and receipts will be reviewed and assessed.

  6. Requests for electronic money transfer will be emailed via the Yukon Chamber of Commerce’s Plooto Payables System.  You will be required to enter personal banking information into the system to have your rebate deposited into the account you indicate – your personal banking information is not retained in the Plooto system once you have accepted the payment.  Requests for manual cheques will be mailed to the address indicated on your application.  Please allow 2 weeks for processing cheques.

Eligibility

The Yukoner Travel Rebate Program is open to all Yukon residents regardless of age; however only adults 18 years of age or older may apply. This means that a child may receive a rebate, but an adult must apply for the rebate on behalf of the child.
One application per Great Yukon Experience travel package should be submitted per travel group. There is no limit on the number of applications that can be submitted.
