The Yukon Chamber of Commerce, Yukon private sector, the Government of Yukon, Yukon College, the Yukon Indian Development Corporation and the Federal Government (National Research Council and Indian Affairs and Northern Development) are committed to developing a “Yukon Cold Climate Innovation cluster” in Whitehorse.
OUR VISION: Is to establish a world-recognized Cluster for construction and infrastructure in Yukon that is focused on the development, commercialization, application and export of sustainable cold climate technologies and related solutions for sub-arctic regions around the world.
OUR MISSION: Is to enable the development and adaptation of systems and products that meet challenges of cold climate environments.
OUR OBJECTIVES: Are to create a higher degree of economic self-sufficiency in Canada’s North and to increase private-sector growth by building capacity through investment and research. Based on the specific expertise that we have in the north, the current initiative has been focused on the following industries:
- Building construction and maintenance.
- Municipal infrastructure (including water, sewage, heat and power, waste, and roads).
- Geotechnical works (construction/infrastructure specialties that may be applied also to mine reclamation; transportation, permafrost and pipelines).

Putting you in touch with Yukon Businesses
The Territorial Department of Economic Development, in partnership with the Yukon Chamber of Commerce, has publicly launched the Yukon business directory website www.directoryyukon.com as part of the government’s investment attraction strategy. The new, interactive online business directory will facilitate connections between Yukon businesses and potential investors and employees. Yukon businesses are invited to submit new entries, or to make changes to existing entries by contacting the Yukon Chamber of Commerce.
